Recommended Steps to Maximize Public Relations

The intent of the IN TIME OF NEED program is to provide genuine assistance in the form of furniture to residents/resident families experiencing crisis level hardship. That notwithstanding, the JAHMA Foundation encourages residency site management personnel to take advantage of the wonderful public relations opportunities that this program presents. As a result, the following guidelines are suggested as best practices to cast IN TIME OF NEED in the most favorable light.
- Take a few pictures of the resident/resident family with their new furniture.
- Include the photo and an article in the site newsletter.
- Invite the local newspaper to take some photos and do an article.
- Contact a local television and/or cable provider to do a story.
- Always wait until after the furniture has actually been delivered to utilize the public relations strategies.
- Since all completed applications require a release signed by the resident applicant to publicize their name and photograph should they receive an award, this step has already been taken care of for you.
